My favorite promotion I used to run when I was in retail was a Gift with Purchase! Everyone loves something free and when you can offer a free gift with a high perceived value when a customer spend over $50 or $75 it increases sales every time! Macy's was always a leader in doing this when you purchased perfume or cologne and offered a travel bag of some type.
